The Short Answer

You can still cancel most online purchases in South Korea within 7 days, even if the store says you cannot — this 'cooling-off period' is required by law and overrides store policies.

What the Law Says

South Korean law guarantees consumers a mandatory cooling-off period for online purchases — regardless of what the store’s terms say. This right cannot be waived by contract or notice.

Under the Act on Consumer Protection in Electronic Transactions, sellers must allow consumers to cancel online purchases without reason within 7 days of receiving the goods (or from the contract date for services).

Even if the online store states 'no cancellation' or 'non-refundable', that clause is invalid under Korean law because it violates mandatory consumer protections.

The seller must refund the full amount — including delivery fees — within 3 business days of receiving the returned item, and no later than 10 days after cancellation request. If the seller failed to clearly inform you of your cancellation rights before purchase, the 7-day period starts from when you *should have been informed* — and you may return the item free of charge.
